The Traveller
The Traveller is a short film previsualisation piece, exploring unreal engine and motion capture use. This project was an enjoyable exploration of what was relatively new to me at the time.
While there is no specific plot the general outline follows as such: character explores a wooded area where a ruin resides.

Poem by Anon.
Down the path, past the glade and spring,
away from town, among the living thing.
There, a circle's reign is hidden, solemn and asleep,
dreaming of an ancient past, of naught but stones and sheep.
One of ancient many, silent on the land,
once with great stories, respecting old command.
Cities turn to sand, paths to crumbling cliffs,
unwritten history hidden in mist and myths.
The ruins remain, no living soul to atone,
all lost and forgotten, weary and alone.
Step weary ye travellers, do not whisper or speak,
for those who remain here, forever stop to weep.
During the creation I was responsible for creating the scene, lighting and cameras. Additionally, the motion capture was recorded using an Xsens suit.

A quickly sketched out diagram used during use of the suit. It was to illustrate the rough location of the various wires and sensors when suiting-up.
Unreal engine layout of the traveller
The traveller (originally called the forest) started out as a storyboard. At this time there was no intention to use poetry as a backdrop and the scene played out differently.
